NOTICE OF CHANGE IN ELECTRONIC ACCESS TO COURT RECORDS - Effective Friday, April 1, 2011
Effective Friday, April 1, 2011, the public will no longer be able to electronically access court records in family law, juvenile court, guardianship and conservatorship, mental health, criminal, civil harassment, workplace violence prevention, and elder or dependent adult abuse proceedings, and proceedings to compromise the claims of a minor or a person with a disability on-line through the court’s website.
While electronic access to the records listed above will not be available on the court’s website, the public can access these records electronically using kiosks located in clerk’s offices or by seeking help at clerk’s counters. The planned change will make the court in compliance with California Rules of Court 2.503 (http://courts.ca.gov/7260.htm?title=two), which became effective January 1, 2010 and outlines the public’s access to court records.
The changes effective April 1, 2011 will not impact remote electronic access of court calendars, register of actions, and tentative rulings currently available on the court's website.
