Instructions for Domestic Violence Restraining Orders
Documents can by typed or hand-printed, using blue or black ink only. Lined paper or colored paper is not acceptable for filing attached declarations with your domestic violence restraining order.
If restraining order is completed and turned into the clerk's office at or before 10 a.m., the order can be picked up between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. the same day.
If support is being requested, please ask a legal clerk for an Income and Expense Declaration form.
Please make sure all documents are completed and signed before turning in the restraining order to the Superior Court Clerk's Office.
Your name must always appear in the upper left corner of each form, where there is a space to indicate the party appearing in pro per or the attorney's name. Your address and phone number are optional, but should be there, unless you are trying to keep it confidential so the restrained person does not know where you are residing. The address of the Court is:
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT
540 E. Main Street
STOCKTON, CA 95202
