What: Domestic Violence Seminar When: Monday, October 29, 2001 6:00pm - 7:30pm Where: Danner Hall Mustang Room, San Joaquin Delta College Why: October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month |
The Honorable Anthony Lucaccini, San Joaquin Superior Court Judge, will be the featured speaker at the first session of the People's Law School series. He will address critical issues on domestic violence in our community, including:
- The effects of violence on victims and children.
- The criminal consequences for perpetrators.
- The legal remedies available for victims.
- Breaking the cycle of violence.
- Where to get help.
Judge Lucaccini presides over the Domestic Violence Court in San Joaquin County, where all misdemeanor domestic violence complaints and all probation violations for domestic violence defendants have been handled since January 1998. Judge Lucaccini has been on the County Domestic Violence Task Force since its inception in 1997. Michael Mulvihill, Jr., Deputy District Attorney in the domestic violence unit, will join the Judge.
