San Joaquin County Superior Court is pleased to announce that after nearly one year of planning, designing, and testing the new California Case Management System-V3 (CCMS) for Civil, Small Claims, and Probate/Mental Health cases is now available! San Joaquin County Superior Court is the first court in California to “go live” with all three case types at the same time. The Court went “live” with the new system on Monday, April 07, 2008.

The Court is excited about the capabilities of the new system, which includes the Court’s ability to access electronic, paper-on-demand files that allow multiple users to access a file simultaneously, and immediate data entry to ensure that all files reflect the most current information. CCMS-V3 has eliminated the need for court staff to use hundreds of codes to enter in case information, thus allowing court staff to work more efficiently.

CCMS-V3 also makes the public’s access to case information more convenient. There are now kiosks in the clerk’s offices at the Stockton, Lodi, and Tracy branch courts. These kiosks allow the public to:

  • File a small claims plaintiff’s claim
  • File a small claims defendant’s claim
  • File an unlawful detainer complaint
  • File an answer to an unlawful detainer case
  • File a waiver of fees for small claims
  • Request copies
  • Search of a case/file
  • Look up tentative rulings

The new CCMS system is part of a plan to bring all Superior Courts in California under the same computer system for all case types. All 58 courts in California are to be using the system by 2012, which is a goal set by California Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronald George. San Joaquin County Superior Court is pleased to be the fifth court to implement the system.
